Mark Begich has had two federal tax liens placed against his business, another business of his was late on paying property taxes 23 out of 29 times, and, while Anchorage Mayor, taxes increased. Unfortunately, that's not all that's troubling about Mark Begich.

Landlord Begich even got a tenant evicted from his home on Christmas Eve.

On December 16, 1993, Sunset Investments and Mark Begich filed a complaint to evict a tenant.

  • On Dec. 16, 1993, Sunset Investments and Mark Begich filed a complaint for forcible entry and detainer against the tenant with the District Court for the State of Alaska in Anchorage, requesting "immediate return of possession" of an apartment rented from Sunset Investments.1

On December 22, 1993, a judge ordered that the tenant vacate the apartment by Christmas Eve.

  • On Dec. 22, 1993, the judge ordered that the tenant be ordered to vacate the premises no later than 10 AM on Dec. 24, 1993.2

In November of 2000, Mark Begich sued two tenants and a judge ordered the tenants to vacate the apartment the day after Thanksgiving.

  • On his Public Official Financial Disclosure Statement for 2000, Mark Begich listed himself as the owner of Begich Apartments.3
     
  • On Nov. 14, 2000, Begich Apartments filed a complaint for forcible entry and detainer against two tenants, to recover past due rent and charges totaling $755.4
     
  • On Nov. 20, 2000, a judge ordered that the two tenants vacate the property by Noon on Nov. 24, 2000 -- the day after Thanksgiving.5
